According to local news, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio might announce his White House bid for the 2016 presidential elections on April 13 in Miami.
Tampa Bay Times reported last Friday night that the Cuban-American Republican from Florida has made a reservation on the Freedom Tower in Miami for a private event. The report said that the place could work as a site for Rubio’s presidential bid.
The Freedom Tower is a Mediterranean–style building is known for being used in 1926 to help refugees who were fleeing from the communist Cuba after Fidel Castro seized power in 1959.
Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said that so far there is no official date and location where the senator could make his presidential bid announcement though Conant has said that the date would probably be in early April.
The last Monday, the U.S. Senator Ted Cruz from Texas announced his White House bid for the Republican nomination and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky said that he would state his intentions on April 7. Also, the former Governor Jeb Bush has created an exploratory team but has yet to make his presidential bid official.
