According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, on July 13, 2015, the body of Brandon Joseph Sage Gould, 29, was found near railroad tracks by a pedestrian, approximately a mile-and-a-half north of Sibley, Iowa.

Officials say that they believe Brandon was traveling with his wife, Yvette Gould, aboard a Union Pacific railcar that was carrying grain when he fell off and was run over by the train. It is unknown, at this time, how or why Brandon fell off of the train. Yvette reported Brandon missing during the afternoon hours of July 13, 2015, once the train arrived in Mankato, MN, to the Union Pacific Police. It is not known how long the couple had been riding aboard the railcar.

An autopsy was performed on the body of Brandon Gould at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. His death has been ruled as accidental.
