The Vision Iowa Board approved $366,917 Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grants for aquatic center in Story City and a park project in Ankeny. The board awarded the projects at a meeting held on Wednesday.
The Story City Swimming Pool project received $86,530 to be used in the construction of swimming pool with two water slides, two diving boards, lap swimming, a spray zone area for toddlers, lounge areas, a new bathhouse and concession stand.
The Ankeny Market Pavilion project was awarded $280,387 that will be spent in the construction of two open-air pavilions, a paved plaza, a restroom facility, a trail hub, signage and a natural play space.
The Vision Iowa Program offers financial supports for communities to create recreational, cultural, educational and entertainment facilities with the purpose of improving quality of life in Iowa.
