The Iowa Department of Education will host a two-day literacy summit in July in Des Moines. The Quality Literacy Instruction Summit will take place in the Iowa Events Center on July 29-30.
Dr. Anita Archer, a consultant to school districts on explicit instruction and literacy improvement and Dr. Laura M. Justice, an applied researcher in early childhood language and literacy development, will speak at the two-day event.
The target audiences of the event are preschool through 3rd Grade Literacy Educators that include administrator, early childhood educator, special education teachers, literacy coach, interventionists, 2-3 general education teachers, AEA Literacy Support staffs and Department of Education staffs.
The event will focus on how research-based efforts could be implemented in preschool through third grade literacy. Attendees can learn about useful and efficient teaching techniques.
