The school authorities could not confirm the exact numbers of injuries but not less than 12 people were injured at Westfield High School, Capt. Charles Hollowell of the Westfield Police Department told AP.
INDYSTAR reports, about two dozen were hurt when the stage at the school’s auditorium collapsed.
“I was honestly just shocked,” said Andrew Baier, a senior at Westfield who was present in the auditorium when a concert was being performed. “I didn’t think that anything like that could happen, especially here at Westfield.”
Last night, a group of students was performing on the stage on the occasion of the grand finale of “American Pie.”
