The Iowa Secretary of Agriculture has confirmed that the third case of bird flu has been confirmed this time in Sac County with a facility that has an estimated 34,000 turkeys.
State officials quarantined the premise and the birds will be euthanized to prevent the spread of the disease. The Center for Disease Control says the risk to people from the infections are low. No humans with the virus have been detected.
A few days ago, bird flu was discovered in Osceola County which required 5.3 million birds to be euthanized.
