Emilia Clarke, the famous actress known as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, has a long experience doing nudity scenes on the acclaimed show. So, it wasn’t a huge surprise when she was invited to join the production of “Fifty Shades Of Grey” playing the main female role in the movie.
Yet, Emilia Clarke decided to reject the lead role due to the onscreen nudity because she doesn’t want to have an entire career built of it, she said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I’d done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again,” she explained. “No regrets.”
But Emilia Clarke hasn’t been the only one from an A-list actors who turn down “Fifty Shades of Grey” roles. Since it releases on February 13, the movie has grossed $558.6 million around the world.
One of the other female actresses who rejected the role of Anastasi Steele was Shailene Woodley, who turn it down due to press obligations for her movie “Divergent”. Also, the character of Christian Grey was offered to Ryan Gosling, but due to his “no sequels” philosophy the famous actor turned it down.
Clarke has also rejected other films due to her “Game of Thrones” strict shooting schedule.
The 28-year-old actress has been reported to have a salary of $7 million per season for “Game of Thrones”, she hasn’t confirmed this information yet and has only said that the show “takes very good care of her”.
